Ladle furnace slag is produced through the addition of lime (CaO), and dolomitic limestone () in the electric furnace. The resulting byproduct, ladle furnace slag, contains high concentrations of calcium oxide. Due to high CaO concentrations the material can be used in the production process of cement, as a limestone replacement.

WhatsAppعرض المزيدconsidered [4]. Steel slag is a solid waste from steel production. It can be categorized as carbon steel slag and stainless steel slag according to the type of steel, and as pretreatment slag, basic oxygen furnace slag (BOFS), electrical arc furnace slag (EAFS), ladle refining slag (LFS) and casting residue according to the steelmaking process [5].
WhatsAppعرض المزيدRecycling Ladle Furnace Slag as Flux in Steelmaking: 16/09/2019 LF slag recycling was tested at JSW Steel, Vijayanagar Works, India by means of Alkilled ladle furnace slag as a replacement to synthetic slag. The recycling process was carried out in two steps.

WhatsAppعرض المزيد11/11/2017· The recycling of these residues in the civil construction sector is growing, since both industries have developed an increasing concern for the exhaustion of natural resources. In this scenario, one example is the ladle furnace slag (LFS), a byproduct of the secondary refining of steel.
WhatsAppعرض المزيدLadle Furnace Slag (LFS) may be used in substitution of fine aggregate ( mm), and filler (< mm) in bituminous mixtures, considering its suitable particle size and hydraulic properties.
WhatsAppعرض المزيدA new technique is presented to recycle ladle slag within the electric arc furnace through the injection system. The dilution of the chemical species contained in the slag and their combination with the species featuring the EAF slag afford a double advantage: the final slag is structured by chemical species that do not lead to the formation of powders and better stabilize the ing slag.

WhatsAppعرض المزيدRecycling can be an efficient option to reduce such waste. Fluorspar (Calcium Fluoride) is generally used to help fluidize the slag; however, Fluorspar has a corrosive effect on the ladle refractory and is environmentally harmful. Alternatively, Calcium Aluminate synthetic slag is very effective in making the slag more fluid, but it is costly.
